Snohomish County officials release information about the victims The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s office has released the first comprehensive list of victims of the landslide.
Of the 24 victims transported to the medical examiner’s office, 18 have been identified and their families notified. Three additional victims have been discovered but are not yet included in the official count.
Twenty-two people remain missing. County officials also released their names late Monday.
“We want to do all we can to find them and give some closure to their families,†Gary Haakenson, the Snohomish County executive director, said in a statement. With clear skies and an increase in temperatures in the forecast, Mr. Haakenson said, working conditions for the recovery efforts are expected to improve in the coming days.
