Fatalities Reported in Texas Tornado

A video, posted by a local resident, of a tornado approaching the town of Granbury, Texas.

A tornado struck northern Texas late Thursday, causing multiple deaths and destroying homes, according to a report by The Associated Press.

The storm hit Granbury, a small town near Fort Worth, at around 8 p.m. local time, the report said. A local news station, WFAA-TV, reported that homes had been damaged and cars had been turned upside down. Police officers and firefighters were “combing through the wreckage, going home to home making sure there are no additional victims,” WFAA-TV reported.

An official with the Hood County sheriff’s department did not immediately return a call seeking details late Thursday.
