Carnegie Hall said on Tuesday that steam was restored Tuesday morning and that concerts, which had been halted since Oct. 28, would resume on Wednesday evening. The violinist Midori is scheduled to perform in the Stern Auditorium on Wednesday, the Belcea Quartet in Zankel Hall.
Carnegie was forced to cancel all activity because of Hurricane Sandy and the damage to a crane across the street from high winds that forced the closing of part of West 57th Street and the surrounding area. The street reopened on Sunday, but utilities were not restored until Tuesday. Dozens of concerts were canceled or postponed.
