Ecco Books said Wednesday that it would publish a memoir by Tom Robbins, author of the 1976 bestseller âEven Cowgirls Get the Blues.â
Now 76 years old, Mr Robbins said in a statement that his memoir, which will be titled âTibetan Peach Pieâ and released in 2014, will tell stories from a colorful life that begins in the hills of Appalachia. The book, he said, will take him through numerous marriages, across the continents of Africa and Asia, and into âAmerica's psychedelic underground,â attempting to âlift the curtain on a succession of highly personal magical mystery peep shows.â
Ecco, an imprint of HarperCollins, published Mr. Robbins last book, âB is for Beer,â in 2009. Earlier titles like âSkinny Legs and Allâ and âStill Life with Woodpeckerâ were published by Bantam Books, a Random House imprint.
âCowgirls,â which followed the mystical adventures of an unusually large thumbed hitchhiker, earned Mr. Robbins an enduring c ult following largely among post-adolescents and older readers with unending affection for the 1960s. It was turned into a movie in 1993.
