Axl Rose generally avoids interviews.  So it came as a surprise on Monday when the mercurial and temperamental front man for Guns N' Roses announced he had agreed to do a sit-down give-and-take on âJimmy Kimmel Liveâ on Oct. 24. The appearance is part of a publicity campaign in advance of Mr. Rose's 12-night run at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, which starts Oct. 31. That run, called Appetite for Democracy, marks the first time Mr. Rose and the current lineup of Guns N' Roses have done a residency, the band's publicist said.
Mr. Rose has been estranged from the original members of the band for years. Earlier this year, he declined to show up when the original group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, citing issues like the âendless amount of revisionismâ of the band's history and âthe greed of this industry.â He later offered a confused apology to his fans and the people of Cleveland, saying âit gets old being the outlaw.â
