Baryshnikov to Dance in New Mark Morris Work

Mikhail Baryshnikov and Mark Morris are reuniting once again. The acclaimed dancer will perform in a new work by Mr. Morris during its world premiere on Oct. 4 in Seattle. “A Wooden Tree,” to music and words by Ivor Cutler, will be performed as part of the On the Boards festival in a program that also includes Mr. Morris's “The Muir,” “Petrichor” and “Grand Duo.”

Mr. Baryshnikov and Mr. Morris have a long history of working together - they co-founded the White Oak Dance Project in 1990. Mr. Baryshnikov will also dance in “A Wooden Tree” when it is performed in Sarasota, Fla., Oct. 10-13, and at the Mark Morris Dance Center when the piece makes its New York City debut in April. Mr. Barys hnikov last performed in New York as part of the Lincoln Center Festival in August.
