âThe X Factorâ has two new hosts: Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian Odom.
Mr. Lopez and Ms. Odom will start in November when the Fox singing competition shifts from taped auditions to live performances. They will replace Steve Jones, who was the host last year when the show, which originated in Britain, made its debut in the United States. Simon Cowell, who created the format, said in a statement Tuesday, âThe worst kept secret in Hollywood is outâ - an acknowledgment that their names surfaced in the press weeks ago.
Both of the new hosts could bring their established fan bases to the show. âThe X Factorâ is an extra job for both of them: Mr. Lopez will continue to host the entertainment newscast âExtraâ and Ms. Odom will continue to appear on the E! reality show âKeeping Up with the Kardashians.â
âThe X Factorâ has attracted about 10 million viewers to its audition episodes this season, down from about 12 million viewers last seaso n. Its rival on NBC, âThe Voice,â has fared better.
