Michael Learned, the Emmy Award-winning actress, will star in “The Outgoing Tide,†a new play about family struggles by Bruce Graham that is set to open in November at 59E59 Theaters, on East 59th Street in Manhattan, the Delaware Theatre Company announced Friday.
Set in a summer cottage on Chesapeake Bay, the play â€" which will also star Ian Lithgow and Peter Strauss â€" follows the reaction to a man's plan to secure his family's future. It is scheduled to begin preview performances on Nov. 7 and formally open on Nov. 20 in a limited engagement through Dec. 16. Mr. Graham was nominated for two Drama Desk Awards for “Coyote on a Fence,†a drama about two prisoners bound for execution, which had its premiere Off Broadway in 2000.
