Who wants to be the one to wish good luck to Gyp Rosetti, the hair-triggered gangster played by Bobby Cannavale on âBoardwalk Empire,â for the next season of that HBO series? We can't guarantee that Rosetti himself will be back, per se, but HBO said on Tuesday that it had ordered a fourth year of the Prohibition-era period drama. In its first two seasons âBoardwalk Empire,â which is created by Terence Winter (âThe Sopranosâ) and stars Steve Buscemi as the corrupt politician Nucky Thompson, has won 12 Emmy Awards and been nominated both years for outstanding dramatic series. (Other winners have included the executive producer Martin Scorsese, who earned his first-ever Emmy for directing the âBoardwalk Empireâ pilot.) Its third season, which started on Sept. 16, has drawn just under 3 million viewers an episode for debut broadcasts of new installments. HBO said the third-season premiere has been watched by 7.2 million total viewers over multiple windows.
