David Chase may be best known as the creator of the television series âThe Sopranos.â But at one point earlier in his life, he would like to have been known as a great musician. Those particular dreams didn't come true, but Mr. Chase has a nostalgia for the '60s and chose to set his feature directorial debut, âNot Fade Away,â within the world of young aspiring musicians in that era. The film had its premiere as a centerpiece screening in the New York Film Festival and in this video, Mr. Chase discusses the movie, the rock ân' roll music of the time, and his desire to make a biopic about a band you've never heard of.
