The Rolling Stones will release two new original songs when they put out a greatest hits record in November, Mojo magazine reported on Tuesday. The two songs â" entitled âGloom and Doomâ and âOne Last Shotâ â" were recorded in Paris last month and will appear on a three-CD set of the band's hits, âGRRR!,â which is set to be released on Nov. 13.
The songs will be the first new material the Stones have generated since the recording sessions for their 2005 album âA Bigger Bang,â Billboard reported. The band has several projects in the works to mark their 50th anniversary. (Their first show was at Marquee Club in London in July 1962.) Besides âGRRR!,â the Stones will also release in mid-November âCrossfire Hurricane,â a documentary movie about their early years.
There have been unconfirmed reports in Rolling Stone magazine and other publications that the Stones will do two shows at the new Barclays Center in Brooklyn this fall, but a publicist for the group said no plans for concerts have been finalized.
