Let the historians decide who was the greatest president in American history; I would argue that the best modern commander in chief for comedians is pretty clear. Sure, Nixon is a solid contender, but Bill Clinton, a man with big appetites and a distinctive accent, has given joke tellers a wealth of material. So it's no surprise that his return to the spotlight at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night in Charlotte, N.C., inspired an avalanche of jokes on Twitter. (Just as the Republicans' gathering did last week). Here are a few highlights:
Bill Clinton says âprogrumsâ like a granddad, but âarithmeticâ like somebody who kisses, and MEANS it. #c onfused #stirrings #dnc2012

The smartest part about Clinton's speech is that when it's over, it will be voting day. #DNC

Yeah, sure, fine, Bill Clinton's a good speaker. But has he ever co-starred in a movie with a monkey?

This man is definitely the world's most self-righteous vegan and that's saying something. #DNC
