Miniseries Treatment in Works for \'Wolf Hall\' and \'Bring Up the Bodies\'

By JULIE BOSMAN

A six-hour adaptation of two of Hilary Mantel's novels, “Wolf Hall” and its sequel, “Bring Up the Bodies,” will come to television in late 2013, BBC Two has announced. “Wolf Hall,” a historical novel set during the reign of King Henry VIII, won the Man Booker Prize for Fiction in 2009. Peter Straughan, who wrote the screenplay for the 2011 movie version of “Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy,” will adapt the Mantel novels for television.

Janice Hadlow, a BBC Two executive, told The Guardian that the books were “right in the cross hairs of what BBC Two viewers will enjoy.”
