The Kitchen Announces Its Fall Season

By DANIEL J. WAKIN

Yoga mats, Beethoven, stories from life in America and Mary Shelley's “Frankenstein” all serve as fodder for offerings this season at The Kitchen performance and exhibition space, which released highlights of its program, which runs from Sept. 7 â€" Dec. 22.

“Y? O! G…A” is an exhibit by Matt Keegan and Eileen Quinlan that employs yoga mats. Neither artists practices yoga, press materials pointed out. DD Dorvillier choreographed “Danza Permanente” by transposing the music of a Beethoven string quartet into the unaccompanied movement of four dancers. “Synth Nights,” a new series of live electronic music, is also on the lineup.

A theater piece by Richard Maxwell, “Neutral Hero,” concerns a man's search for his father “in the American landscape” as told by 12 people, The Kitchen said. And the Shelley novel underpins “Psychopompe” by Joakim and Camille Henrot, a work of music and visual art. More information is available online at www.thekitchen.org.
