Kevin Hart, Bill Maher, Robin Williams and Aziz Ansari are among the funnymen who will be featured at this year's New York Comedy Festival, its organizers announced on Tuesday. The five-day festival, which is produced by Carolines on Broadway in association with Comedy Central, will kick off its ninth year on Nov. 7, beginning with a Next Big Things event at the Paley Center for Media and an interview with Ricky Gervais, in conversation with John Hodgman, at Town Hall.
Other planned events include standup sets by Mr. Ansari, the âParks and Recreationâ star, at the Apollo Theater (on Nov. 9) and Carnegie Hall (on Nov. 10); two performances by Mr. Hart, of âLaugh at My Painâ and âThink Like a Man,â at Madison Square Garden (on Nov. 10); an evening with Mr. Maher, the host of HBO's late-night political comedy talk-show âReal Timeâ at the Beacon Theater (on Nov. 10); and an event billed as âDavid Steinberg and R obin Williams Talking About Nothing That Importantâ at the 92nd Street Y (on Nov. 11). The roster of more than 175 comedians who will perform during the festival will also include Artie Lange, Patton Oswalt, Brian Regan, Rob Delaney, Jim Gaffigan and Marlon and Shawn Wayans.
Tickets for some events will be sold in advance to Citi cardholders from Wednesday through Sunday at citiprivatepass.com. The general presale for all events will begin on Monday at nycomedyfestival.com.
