Taylor Swift, one of the biggest-selling pop stars in recent years, said on Monday evening she will release her fourth studio album on Oct. 22. The album, entitled âRed,â will have 16 songs, including the title track, she told fans during a Web chat event filmed in her living room in Nashville.
âThey're all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I've experienced in the last two years,â she said, according to The Associated Press. âAll those emotions spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that - in my mind all those emotions are red. There's nothing in between. There's nothing beige about any of those feelings.â
To give a taste of the album's tone, Ms. Swift played the album's first single, âWe Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.â She then took questions from the live audience and people watching the event online. When Ms. Swift, who is 22, sees red and writes songs about it, the country music industry sees green: she has sold more than 22 million albums and 50 million singles in her short career. She has four Grammy Awards.
